Tsukemen Gonokami Seisakusho (Shinjuku) つけ麺 五ノ神製作所 新宿店
Shinjukus shrimp-tsukemen specialist: chewy noodles dipped into a hot, creamy prawn broth, open straight through the day.
Shrimp-tomato tsukemen: ¥1,200
About
Gonokami Seisakusho is the place to try ebi (shrimp) tsukemen. The dipping broth is hot, thick and intensely prawny, with versions that add tomato or a cheesy basil sauce, and the medium-thick noodles have a superb bite (around 270 g standard, with a smaller 180 g option). It is a short walk from Shinjuku-sanchome and the south side of Shinjuku station and runs continuously from late morning to evening, making it one of the easiest Ramen 100 shops to fit into a busy day. Locals add a tamago-kake-gohan (egg on rice) on the side.
