About

Tower Records went bust in the US, but its Shibuya store thrives: a multi-floor building by Shibuya's Jinnan crossing that's become a fan-culture hub. A renovation completed in early 2026 expanded the J-pop section, added a new immersive space on the ground floor and reworked several floors around fan merchandise, while the upper floors keep vinyl, Western music and classical. Expect huge displays for whichever idol group or anime has a release that week, in-store live events and signings, and plenty of fans taking photos with their favourite artists' displays. Japanese CDs with exclusive bonuses are the classic buy.
