About

Akabanebashi is the station many locals use for Tokyo Tower precisely because of this view: from the crossing of Sakurada-dori and the Route 3 ring road, the tower stands about 350 m away, close enough to look monumental but far enough to fit in a frame with a standard zoom. At night the tower's orange Landmark Light or the coloured Diamond Veil illumination towers over streams of car headlights, which makes it a favourite for long exposures. The surrounding pavements and pedestrian crossings give a few slightly different angles, including one with the tower rising over the trees of Shiba Park.
