About
Tokyo is flatter and more bike-friendly than visitors expect, and this long-running English-language company makes the most of it. Tours start from its office in Shinkawa near the Sumida River, with quality cross bikes (e-assist bikes available), helmets and a guide. The flagship Route A full-day ride crosses bridges along the Sumida to the old fishing island of Tsukudajima and its shrine, Tsukiji Outer Market, the Toyosu waterfront, lunch in Odaiba, Zojoji temple and Tokyo Tower, a small shrine on Mt Atago and the Imperial Palace before finishing around 15:00. Other routes explore old Edo neighbourhoods, Asakusa and Yanaka, and shorter half-day rides run in the hottest months when full-day tours are suspended. Groups are capped at 15 and the pace suits anyone reasonably fit.
