About

Sakaeya Milk Hall opened in Kanda Tacho around the end of the war in 1945. Its name comes from the milk halls of the early 20th century, cafes that sold milk, coffee and cakes, and the shop originally did exactly that before becoming a noodle and rice diner. Today it is known for a classic, slightly sweet Tokyo shoyu ramen with thin noodles, chashu and menma, alongside curry rice and other diner staples. The wooden fittings, menus on the wall and old signage make it one of the most atmospheric Showa interiors in central Tokyo, a few minutes from Kanda Station.
