About

Housed in the basement of a Meiji University building, the museum has three sections: archaeology, commodities (traditional crafts and trade goods) and criminal materials. The last is the best known, displaying Edo-period arrest tools and replicas of European devices such as a guillotine and an iron maiden. Admission is free.
