About

The first Manseibashi was a two-arch stone bridge built in 1873 from the stones of the dismantled Sujikai gate, nicknamed "megane-bashi" (spectacles bridge). The present bridge, a two-arch structure finished in 1930, carries Chuo-dori from Kanda to the Akihabara electric town. From its railings you look straight at the red-brick viaduct of the former Manseibashi Station, now the mAAch ecute shopping arcade, and at the Chuo Line trains passing above the river. It is the classic entry point for walking into Akihabara from the south.
