About

Ebisuya pioneered sightseeing rickshaws in Kyoto's Arashiyama and runs a big fleet in Asakusa, with pullers recruited for stamina, local knowledge and good humour. Courses start at around ten minutes for a quick loop and stretch to an hour or more, covering the Kaminarimon area, quiet lanes behind Senso-ji, views of Skytree from the Sumida riverside and spots tour groups never see. Pullers stop for photos (they know every angle) and narrate the area's history; many speak decent English. It's especially good for anyone with limited mobility, for couples in rented kimono, and at dusk when the lanterns come on. Rickshaws carry one or two people; larger groups ride in convoy. The main stand is right by Asakusa Station, and pullers also tout around Kaminarimon, Ebisuya's are in uniform with the company name.
