Daily Chiko (Nakano Broadway) デイリーチコ
The eight-layer, eight-flavour soft-serve tower in Nakano Broadway's basement, a wobbling rainbow of vanilla, matcha, ramune and more that's been a viral photo challenge for over a decade.
About
Daily Chiko is a humble snack counter in the basement food floor of Nakano Broadway, the otaku shopping complex, but it's famous for one thing: the 'tokudai' (extra-large) soft-serve cone, stacked with eight swirled layers of different flavours, typically including vanilla, chocolate, matcha, strawberry, grape, ramune and caramel. The cone is so tall it needs careful technique to eat before it collapses, which is the whole point of the viral videos. Smaller sizes are available for a fraction of the price. It pairs perfectly with a browse of the anime and collectibles shops upstairs.
Highlights
- Eight-layer 'tokudai' soft serve, each layer a different flavour
- Smaller sizes for less ambitious appetites

Tips
- Eat it right at the counter, it starts tilting within minutes

- Combine with Nakano Broadway's Mandarake stores above
- Cash is safest
