Five locker spots: the biggest JR bank is just outside the East Exit gate (11 large units), another sits inside the Central Gate, plus small IC-only lockers at the Tokyu Ikegami Line gate (4F) and a quiet Toei Asakusa Line bank.

The best bet is the JR bank immediately to the right as you go out through the East Exit: about 45 lockers, including 5 half-width 300-yen units, 18 small, 11 medium and 11 large (700 yen) that take full-size suitcases. Inside the Central Gate concourse a second JR bank has about 26 units (5 large). Both take coins, 1,000-yen notes and IC cards. Up on 4F of Gotanda Tokyu Square, next to the Ikegami Line gate, a small bank of 14 lockers (only 1 large) accepts IC cards only. Underground, the Toei Asakusa Line has lockers on B1 outside the gates in the passage toward Exits A1/A2. This end of the station is quiet outside rush hour, so it is a good fallback. Private street lockers (200-300 yen, 24 hours) sit within two minutes of the East Exit.

Tips

• The Toei Asakusa Line goes direct to Asakusa, Nihombashi and (via Keikyu) Haneda, so drop bags here if you are heading out by subway
• Check live availability of JR East lockers in the JR East app or on the Coin Locker Navi site before you go
• The Tokyu bank takes IC cards only, with no cash
• JR East lockers roll over to a new day at 2:00 am and can be used for up to 3 days; after that, bags go to the station's lost-property office
