Bar Orchard, run by Takuo and Sumire Miyanohara, is a cheerful antidote to Ginza formality. Instead of a menu, a basket of peak-season fruit arrives: perhaps Japanese pears, muscat grapes, persimmons or white peaches. Point at what appeals, say light, medium or strong, mention allergies, and a cocktail appears, often with playful garnishes or liquid-nitrogen frozen textures. It has featured on Asia's 50 Best lists in the past and remains one of the most fun introductions to Japanese fruit culture.
