About

Uoshin is a no-nonsense Osaka sushi restaurant in the Umeda Higashi-dori shopping and nightlife strip, known across Kansai for its dekanetta: toppings cut so big that tuna, salmon and anago flop off both ends of the rice. Prices are firmly mid-range, the menu runs from single pieces to big platters and the crowd is a mix of salarymen after work and visitors who saw the photos online. It is less refined than a Kitashinchi counter and does not pretend otherwise; it is about generous fish and Osaka value, in a lively room that stays open late.
