Kuromon Ichiba Market 黒門市場
'Osaka's kitchen': a 600 m covered market of around 150 stalls selling grilled scallops, toro sushi, wagyu skewers, uni and fresh fruit to eat on the spot.
About
Kuromon dates back to the early 1800s and once supplied Osaka's restaurants; today it is half local market, half seafood street-food alley. Stalls grill scallops, crab legs, wagyu skewers and eel, and sell sashimi bowls, oysters, sea urchin and fruit cups. Prices are tourist-level for the showpiece items, but there are still traditional fishmongers, pickle shops and kitchenware stores. Most stalls have seating areas where you can eat what you buy.
