Kizu Market 木津市場
A 300-year-old wholesale market south of Namba where you can eat sushi and kaisendon with locals at early-morning restaurants, and browse on its monthly public market days.
About
Kizu Market is one of Osaka's three wholesale markets, trading seafood, vegetables and dry goods since the Edo period. It is mainly a trade market but has several restaurants open to the public from early morning, serving market sushi and seafood bowls far less touristy than Kuromon. On regular 'Kizu Ichiba' public market days (often on Saturdays), stalls sell directly to the public. It is a genuine local alternative within walking distance of Namba.
