About

The Onodera group, whose top-end Ginza restaurants earned Michelin stars, created Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera to bring that quality to a casual format, and the Osaka branch opened beneath the Midosuji Diamond Building in Shinsaibashi. Despite the name there is no belt: chefs behind a big pale-wood counter take your order and serve each piece freshly made, with fish from top Toyosu wholesalers such as Yamayuki and knife-work you would expect at a high-end counter. The interior is themed on the sea at dusk, with fish-lamp chandeliers. It has become one of the most photographed sushi experiences in Minami.
