About

The Kyoto State Guest House receives foreign heads of state and was built using the skills of Kyoto's master craftsmen, from wood joinery to lacquer and textiles. Visits are by guided tour through reception rooms that look onto a central pond garden. Tours run in Japanese and English on scheduled public days. Same-day tickets are handed out from about 9:30, while advance booking gets priority.
