Inoda Coffee Honten イノダコーヒ 本店
Kyoto's grand old coffee house since 1940: sugar-and-milk 'Arabia no Shinju' blend, a famous Kyoto breakfast and a garden-view dining room.
Coffee: ¥650
About
Inoda has been the meeting place for Kyoto's merchants and novelists for decades. Its main shop on Sakaimachi-dori combines a 1940s house with a newer bright room overlooking a small courtyard garden. The house coffee, Arabia no Shinju, is a dark Mocha-based blend traditionally served with milk and sugar already added (ask if you want it black). The Kyoto Breakfast plate, with ham, scrambled egg, salad, croissant and orange juice, is a city institution, best enjoyed from 7:00 before sightseeing.
