About
Founded in 1947, Daiichi Asahi serves a clear, savoury pork-bone and soy broth with thin straight noodles, plenty of thin pork slices and Kujo green onion. It is a straightforward, comforting bowl and the long opening hours, from early morning until the small hours, make it a reliable stop when arriving or leaving by train. It sits right next to Shinpuku Saikan, and the line on the pavement outside is a Kyoto landmark of its own.
