JR Nijo, on the Sagano (San-in) Line, is a handy break point between Kyoto Station and Arashiyama, and its station is linked to the Tozai Line's Nijo subway stop. A bank of coin lockers stands near the JR ticket gate. Nijo Castle is about 10 minutes' walk east along Oike-dori, and the BiVi Nijo complex next to the station has restaurants and a cinema.
