About

Shijo-Karasuma is the central crossing of downtown Kyoto, where Hankyu's Karasuma Station and the subway's Shijo Station connect underground. Hankyu has a bank by the West Gate near Exit 24, close to the ticket machines; the staffed Hankyu Tourist Center Karasuma nearby also stores bags. From here Nishiki Market is a 5-minute walk east and the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts and Rakuten department stores are close. Capacity is modest, mostly small and medium units.

Tips

• Kawaramachi and Gion-shijo stations have many more lockers if these are full
• Bring coins; not all units take IC cards
• Most lockers are cleared after 3 days and the contents go to the station lost-property office, so don't use them for multi-day storage
