Arashiyama Nakanoshima Riverbank 嵐山公園 中之島地区
The island park in the middle of the Katsura (Oi) River just below Togetsukyo Bridge, where you can sit by the water with the forested Arashiyama mountain in front of you and rowing boats drifting past.
About
Arashiyama Parks Nakanoshima section is a flat island between two channels of the Katsura River, just downstream of the Togetsukyo Bridge. It is the easiest place in Arashiyama to sit right at the waters edge, facing the wooded slopes of Mount Arashiyama, which turn pink in spring and red in autumn. Rowing boats can be rented on the upstream side, cormorant fishing boats go out on summer nights, and tea stalls sell dango and matcha. It is a peaceful escape from the main street crowds a few minutes away.
