About 375 small paddies step down a hillside in the Boso hills. They are one of Japan's 100 best rice terraces and the nearest to Tokyo. They are photogenic in June's green, September's gold and during the 'Lights of Senmaida' illumination. A preservation society runs farming and kamado rice-cooking experiences.
