85 Club teaches windsurfing on Kemigawa Hama, an urban beach on Tokyo Bay about 40 minutes from central Tokyo. Instructors rig the gear on the beach, and the gently sloping sandbar is deep enough to sail but shallow enough to stand, which makes learning less intimidating. Light winds and stable boards suit complete beginners.
