Yunotsubo Kaido 湯の坪街道
Yufuin's main 1 km strolling street from the station towards Lake Kinrin, lined with more than 50 shops: croquettes, roll cakes, Ghibli and Snoopy stores, crafts and cafes.
About
Yunotsubo Kaido is where most Yufuin visits happen. The lane winds from near the station to Lake Kinrin with Mt. Yufu ahead, packed with tabearuki (eat-while-walking) food such as Kinsho croquettes, B-speak roll cake, Bungo beef skewers and fruit dango, plus character shops, glassware, local miso and yuzu goods, and art galleries. It's charming in the early morning and evening but very crowded from 10:00 to 16:00, especially with tour groups. Side lanes hold quieter cafes and the COMICO art museum.
