Rokusei (Beppu Reimen) 手のべ冷麺専門店 六盛
Hand-stretched reimen specialist near Beppu's south end, whose chewy noodles and gentle seafood-and-beef broth are the other camp in the city's great reimen debate.
About
Rokusei is a dedicated reimen shop known for hand-stretched (tenobe) noodles that are springy yet smooth, served in a cold broth that's lighter and more seafood-leaning than some rivals, crowned with beef chashu, kimchi, egg and green onion. Beppu locals tend to split loyalties between Rokusei and Kogetsu, so try both if you can. The shop is clean and spacious with its own parking, which makes it popular with families on weekends.
