Southern Beach Chigasaki サザンビーチちがさき
Chigasakis laid-back surf beach, named after local rock band Southern All Stars, with a giant "C" monument, Eboshi Rock offshore and Mount Fuji views.
About
Chigasaki is the soul of Shonan surf culture, and Southern Beach is its main beach. The beach takes its name from Southern All Stars, whose singer Keisuke Kuwata grew up here, and a large ring-shaped "Chigasaki Sa-zan C" monument on the sand has become the beachs signature photo spot. Offshore stands Eboshi-iwa, a hat-shaped rock, with Enoshima to the east and Mount Fuji and the Hakone mountains to the west. Summer brings lifeguarded swimming and beach huts; the rest of the year surfers dominate.
Highlights
