About

Morito Beach is the main beach of Hayama, a quietly upscale seaside town south of Zushi. Morito Daimyojin, a shrine founded in the 12th century by Minamoto no Yoritomo, sits on a point at the north end, and from its rocks you look out to the small island of Najima with its red torii and the white Hayama lighthouse beyond. On clear days Mount Fuji appears over Sagami Bay, and at sunset the scene is one of the most photographed on the Miura Peninsula. In summer the beach is lifeguarded with beach huts; the rest of the year it is a peaceful place for walks and SUP.
