Isshiki Beach 一色海岸
A small, clear-water cove behind the Hayama Imperial Villa, often named one of Japans best beaches for its fine sand, rocky reef and laid-back beach huts.
About
Isshiki Beach in Hayama lies right next to the Hayama Imperial Villa, the Emperors seaside retreat, and has some of the cleanest water near Tokyo, regularly selected for the Ministry of the Environments list of top swimming beaches. Fine sand curves between rocky points with tide pools, and the summer beach huts here are known for a stylish, low-key vibe. Hayama Shiosai Park, a former imperial villa garden, sits right behind it. On clear evenings the sun sets over Sagami Bay with Mount Fuji in view.
Highlights
- Some of the clearest water on the Miura Peninsula
- Fine sand between rocky points with tide pools
- Next to the Hayama Imperial Villa and Shiosai Park
