About

Sushisei began in 1889 (Meiji 22) at the Nihonbashi uogashi fish market and followed the market to Tsukiji in 1924 after the Great Kanto Earthquake. The honten in the outer market is a no-nonsense counter where you can order sets or nigiri by the piece, with a reputation for straight, honest Edomae sushi and fair pricing. It is a good choice for a sit-down sushi meal while exploring the Tsukiji Outer Market stalls, and opens earlier than most proper sushi counters in the city.
