About

Ten minutes' walk from Shibuya's scramble, Tomigaya and neighbouring Kamiyamacho are the city's favourite slow-living district. There are no big brands: just a dozen excellent independent cafes, a few acclaimed bakeries, craft-beer and natural-wine bars, a renowned bookshop (Shibuya Publishing & Booksellers) and stores selling ceramics and Scandinavian furniture. Fuglen is the famous one, but the joy is drifting from side street to side street. Locals come for weekend brunch and then walk into Yoyogi Park; at dusk the wine bars glow on every corner.
