About

Kyukyodo began in Kyoto in 1663 as an apothecary and incense maker, and opened in Ginza in 1880. Its store at the Ginza 4-chome/5-chome stretch of Chuo-dori sits on the plot that tops Japan's official land-price rankings year after year. Inside, the ground floor is devoted to washi paper goods, letter sets, seasonal postcards, envelopes and decorative boxes, while upstairs you'll find incense, scent sachets, calligraphy brushes and ink. It's a quiet, old-world contrast to the luxury flagships around it.
