Sushi Oku (Asakusa) 鮨 奥
One Michelin star (2026) behind Senso-ji: a chef who inherited his mentor's tools and spirit, with personal twists like sweet-potato-shochu nitsume and soy-milk tamago.
About
Oku's chef has lived in Asakusa since his apprenticeship and calls it his second hometown. He inherited his mentor's knives and serving ware along with his teachings, and keeps faith with old sushi practice while adding a few twists of his own: sweet potato shochu in the rich soy-based nitsume, soy milk in the rolled omelette. The Michelin Guide gives it one star (2026) with a moderate price band, which makes it one of the best-value starred counters in town, and a great reason to linger in Asakusa after dark.
