About

Shinjuku Wald 9 was one of Japan's first all-digital multiplexes and now has a Dolby Cinema auditorium combining Dolby Vision HDR projection with Dolby Atmos sound. It is a key venue for anime premieres and stage-greeting events. Time Out Tokyo marks it as a recommended Shinjuku cinema. Foreign films are normally screened in the original language with Japanese subtitles (look for 字幕 on the schedule, not 吹替 = dubbed); Japanese films are usually shown without English subtitles.
