Shinagawa is the first Tokaido Shinkansen stop south of Tokyo Station, so many travellers board here for Kyoto and Osaka. Keikyu trains reach Haneda Airport in about 15 minutes and also run through toward Narita via the Asakusa Line. The JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines stop here too. The station has a staffed baggage counter, and hotels cluster on the Takanawa side.
