Shinagawa Station Central Free Passage (Commuter Rush) 品川駅 中央自由通路
The wide concourse linking Shinagawa Station's Takanawa and Konan sides, where a river of suited commuters pours toward the Konan offices every weekday morning.
About
Stand at the top of the Konan (east) side of the central free passage near the JR ticket gates and shoot along the concourse toward the Konan exit between about 8 and 9am on a weekday: thousands of commuters in dark suits flow in one direction, a famous image of Tokyo working life. A slow shutter of around 1/4 to 1/2 second, braced against a pillar, turns the crowd into a stream while the ceiling lines stay sharp. Stand against a wall or pillar, never in the flow, do not use tripods or flash, and avoid identifiable close-ups of individual faces.
Highlights

Tips
