Ramen Kai らーめん改
A Kuramae counter on Kokusai-dori that has held a Tabelog Ramen 100 spot for years with its shellfish-broth shio ramen and chewy hand-kneaded noodles.
All-in (deluxe) shio ramen: ¥1,600
About
Ramen Kai is a small, spotless counter on Kokusai-dori between Kuramae and Asakusa. Its speciality is shio ramen built on a shellfish broth: briny, deep and clean, served over chewy, hand-kneaded noodles. The "all-in" bowl adds two kinds of chashu, bamboo shoots, nori, mitsuba and a little yuzu, which lifts the sea aroma and gives a fresh finish. Nothing is greasy or showy; it is a bowl that rewards slow sipping, and the location makes it an easy add-on to a Kuramae craft-shop walk or a morning at Senso-ji.
