About

Run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Oshima Park Zoo sits inside Oshima Park on the northeast coast of Izu Oshima. Its open-air enclosures, built on old lava flows, hold animals such as ring-tailed lemurs, Barbary sheep, camels and giant African tortoises, and there is a small area to pet rabbits and guinea pigs. It is a pleasant stop while touring the island by car or bus.
