About

Demand for Onitsuka Tiger's retro sneakers, especially the Mexico 66, exploded on social media in the 2020s, with lines outside its Ginza store. In July 2026 the Kobe-born brand opened its largest store anywhere in the Shinjuku Takano Building just outside JR Shinjuku's east side: 1,837 m² across four floors including a mezzanine, designed by Milan's Studio Dini Cataldi in black terrazzo, Siena and Lepanto marble. The store covers the Heritage, Contemporary and Formality lines, has a NIPPON MADE area of shoes made in Japan, and on the mezzanine a first-ever amusement corner run with GiGO. Expect store-exclusive colourways and higher prices than outlets, but the full size run.
