About
Hare sits on a corner of the Iriya crossing, right outside Iriya station on the Hibiya Line. Since 2012 it has built its reputation on the noukou (rich) soba: a thick niboshi broth made from several kinds of sardine plus other dried fish such as horse mackerel and squid, with the blend adjusted daily by the owner. Chilled bowls and chilled aedama (an extra serving of seasoned noodles) are popular in summer.
Highlights
- Rich multi-sardine niboshi soup
- Blend adjusted daily
- Chilled bowls in summer
- Right by Iriya station
Tips
- Take exit 2 at Iriya and cross the intersection.
- Order an aedama (extra seasoned noodles) to finish.
- Pair with Ueno, or the Iriya morning-glory fair in early July.
