About
Mejiro Garden is a small, beautifully maintained Japanese garden of a pond with koi, a waterfall, stone lanterns and a teahouse called Akatsukitei ('Red Bird Hut'), which hosts occasional tea ceremonies. Opened in 1990 by Toshima Ward, it's free and usually nearly empty. In autumn the maple leaves are lit up at night for a few weeks, a local secret.
