About

Jiyugaoka is a neighbourhood of sweets shops and boutiques, and La Vita is its quirky postcard: a miniature Venetian square built in 1999, complete with a short canal, a real gondola, a little stone bridge and Italianate facades housing a few shops and salons. It takes five minutes to see, but locals love it for photos, and it sets the tone for a day of patisserie-hopping in what Tokyoites consider their most European district. Combine it with Kuhonbutsu temple and the tree-lined Green Street promenade.
