About
Kumano Shrine was established by local leaders who made pilgrimages to the Kumano shrines in the Kamakura period, and it remained the guardian of the old village of Hibusuma before Jiyugaoka grew into a shopping district. The small wooded grounds sit just behind the boutiques and cafes three minutes from the station.
