About

Jujo Ginza is the kind of shotengai Tokyoites get nostalgic about: an arcaded street about 400 metres long, joined by side streets that bring it to around 200 shops, where butchers fry croquettes at the counter, delis sell dozens of home-style side dishes by weight and tea shops roast leaves on the pavement. It is especially beloved for its osozai, ready-made dishes for working families, at prices that make central Tokyo look absurd. Elderly shoppers, school kids and young families mix along the street, and the arcade roof means it works in the rain. Pair it with the nearby Jujo Fujizuka mini-mountain or continue to Akabane for an evening drink.
