About
This two-storey house was built in 1919 by Fujita Yoshisaburo, founder of the Toshimaen amusement park, and later owned by the Yasuda family of the Yasuda zaibatsu. Donated to the Japan National Trust in 1995, it is opened by volunteers who lead 30-minute house tours included with admission of rooms that mix Japanese and Western design. The secluded Japanese garden is best viewed from the tatami rooms.
