Former Hakubutsukan-Dobutsuen Station 旧博物館動物園駅
A closed Keisei Line station in Ueno Park whose stone 1930s entrance pavilion, topped with a small dome, looks like a tiny mausoleum.
About
Walk to the side of the Tokyo National Museum precinct by the Kuroda Memorial Hall area and look for the small stone building with a domed roof: this is the entrance to Hakubutsukan-Dobutsuen Station, which served the museums and zoo from 1933 until it closed in 1997. Shoot straight on to capture its symmetrical classical facade and heavy door, or include the trees of Ueno Park around it. Soft afternoon light suits the stone. The interior opens only during occasional special tours, so do not try the doors and stay on the public pavement.
