Edo Sakura-dori Cherry Avenue 江戸桜通り
A short avenue of cherry trees between the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi and Coredo Muromachi blocks that turns into a pink tunnel lit by lanterns in spring.
About
Walk to the Nihonbashi Muromachi 1-chome end of Edo Sakura-dori and shoot along the street toward Shin-Nihonbashi: rows of cherry trees arch over the road with the stone facades of the Mitsui Main Building and modern towers behind. During the Nihonbashi Sakura Festival in late March to early April the trees are illuminated and lanterns hang along the avenue, which makes evening the best time. Outside cherry season it is a quiet, elegant street with the Fukutoku Shrine and Coredo Muromachi a few steps away. Shoot from the pavement only, as this is an active road.
