One JR bank on the wall opposite the ticket gate, outside the gates (about 35 units, 3 large), plus several cheap private locker rooms around the South Exit, a minute from the Toden Arakawa tram stop.

Step out of the JR gate and the bank is on the facing wall: about 14 small, 18 medium and 3 large lockers, paid by IC card, coins or 1,000-yen notes. The high share of medium lockers makes this a good stop for carry-on suitcases. Outside the station, private lockers are 200-300 yen and open 24 hours: a locker room a minute from the South Exit toward Tenso Shrine (about 45 small and 9 medium), and smaller banks by the police box and on the North Exit side. Otsuka is where you board the retro Toden Arakawa tram, and its izakaya and ramen scene draws people in the evening.
