Sennichimae Doguyasuji 千日前道具屋筋商店街
Osaka's kitchenware street: 150 m of shops selling professional knives, takoyaki pans, plastic food samples, lanterns and noren curtains to restaurant owners and curious travellers.
About
Doguyasuji is the Osaka counterpart to Tokyo's Kappabashi, a short covered arcade between Namba Grand Kagetsu and Ura Namba. Around 40-50 shops sell everything a restaurant needs: Japanese knives, copper takoyaki pans, ceramic bowls, chopsticks, noren curtains, red lanterns and realistic plastic food models. It is a brilliant place for practical souvenirs, and several knife shops engrave names on purchases.
