About

Samboa is a family of old-style bars that started in Kobe in 1918 and spread to Osaka and Kyoto, each run independently but sharing the same spirit: a long wooden counter, white-jacketed bartenders, cigars, and highballs made with Suntory Kaku and chilled soda, without ice. The Kitashinchi Samboa is one of the groups flagships, with standing space at the counter, tables and a private room, and a dress code of smart casual. It is where Kitashinchis businessmen and sushi diners go for a nightcap, and where you learn why Osaka swears by the highball.
