About

Ryu Fujii, runner-up at the 2016 World Class global final and a graduate of Kitashinchis Bar K, runs Craftroom two floors underground in the unglamorous Osaka Ekimae Daiichi Building, a 1970s office block whose basements are full of standing bars and cheap eateries. Behind a small sign is a warm, jazz-filled room seating only about ten. In 2024 it became the first Osaka bar on Asias 50 Best Bars (No. 28), and it stayed on the extended list in 2025 (No. 58) and 2026 (No. 72). Signatures include a koji cocktail and riffs on classics built around Japanese ingredients.
